A camcorder diary and chronicle of public opinion filmed in Moscow during the fall of 1990, a time of huge political an economic changes in the former Soviet Union. The tape reveals Kobland’s own fascination with the diversity and complexity of the Russian’s reactions to such changes. The incidental texts, from widely differing sources (from the ‘Realistic Manifesto’ to Tarkovski) cause reflection whereas the tragic music of Arvo Pärt underscores the melancholic atmosphere.
