From the top floors of the Wiels Art Centre in Brussels, Peter Downsbrough films a handful of static, fixed shots, and pans the surrounding landscape. We see an industrial landscape with the ever present busy railway connections—a strong contrast with the dark interiors of the building. Typical of Downsbrough’s oeuvre is that the artist superimposes prepositions, interjections and other short words onto the filmed landscape. It seems these are one with the landscape and the buildings in the distance.
