The book also offers a reflection on the work in the form of essays, by Daniel Kurjakovic (freelance curator, art critic and art historian), Antonio Guzman (director of the l’Aquarium/Art et Recherche exhibition space/art centre in Valenciennes) and Eran Schaerf (artist) respectively. “Aglaia Konrad fotografeert uiteenlopende metropolen als Tokio, São Paulo, Caïro, Parijs en Mexico City. Ze manipuleert deze beelden door ze te combineren, te herhalen, te spiegelen, op te blazen, etc. In haar twee- en driedimensionale installaties speelt zij niet alleen met de fenomenen en de beelden van de stad, maar gaat het ook om het spel rondom eenduidigheid, identiteit en de perceptie van de kijker.
