BROUILLON

AN EXHIBITION IN MOTION

23.02.2012 & 24.02.2012 - 14:00-19:00 - €5

With Musée de la danse (Rennes, 2009), French dancer and choreographer Boris Charmatz, proposes to invent a new type of public space for and via dance. He develops experimental projects such as expo zéro (Rennes, 2009 & BAK Utrecht, 2010), an ‘exhibition without objects, but with people, memories, actions and collaboration’, or brouillon, an exhibition in motion. Charmatz: "A small group of curators select visual work. This is exhibited in constantly changing arrangements by a number of performers. They confront the works with one another, give them air, let them move. The aim of brouillon is to explore what ‘an exhibition in movement’ could be."

For this Brussels version, Musée de la danse and Argos gathered artworks that question the position of labour versus non-work (or play) in today’s society. brouillon is at the same time the upbeat to the exhibition Bon Travail which presents the artworks in a totally different context: the ‘fixed’ scenography of an exhibition.
